About Me
Hello everyone my name is iris rose I'm 28 years old and this is my blog, I'm currently homeless going to college for radiology/ sonography. I thought since you guys are here I would speak a little about myself and how I came into this circumstance you know she'd some light on the situation. For starters I prefer breakfast at night and a light breakfast during the day, I love reading, writing, and learning new things. I have no car so I walk and take the bus everywhere, the winters are rough but summers are brutal you can always add clothes and you can't take off more skin. Cats over dogs but it's not really a big competition I have love for all animals, I do want to ask you don't judge my circumstances and believe in me this isn't the end of the world.
I bet you want to know how I came into this position, that's easy I was living in Greeley Colorado at the time in a place called The Verge Greeley. On November 14th 2022 I was in-between jobs so I called denver rental assistance and asked for help, i got accepted and they started the process of attempting to pay my rent. For back story once they accept you for rental assistance they have to call your apartment and verify 3 forms of paperwork then they send the money over. Normally I'm calm once I get a hold of them but something seemed off that time and I couldn't put my finger on it. December came and I got a court notice saying I had to be in court by the 9th of December to discuss eviction, I did call the rental assistance place and they confirmed me still and asked me to still go to court just in case.
It turns out they were not responding to the rental assistance call basically saying they were "no where" in the office, the games were starting and I was getting nervous. The 19th of December they called me and emailed me saying they were sending me the money through mail since no one was answering I said okay and had some hope again. It took till December 22nd for the money to get there I was frantic trying to find a check cashing place nearby, so I cashed it at my bank chase and because it was such a large amount they had to verify who sent it that took two days the door was closing. I finally was about to get my money after Christmas but then came the excuses " we need x amount" or my favorite email" we can't accept it unless you come in and verify that this money is for rent" just straight crap towards me. i got an email on the first of January saying the office was closed on the second meaning they weren't in office when I needed them by the third they had the police at my door i was out and I've been homelessness for a year because of it as of January 3 I've been living on and off the streets trying to get out .
I moved to Denver around november of 2023 and now live at a woman shelter, I'm in the process of looking for work so I can get better help getting off the streets because sadly money doesn't fall from the sky. I also if you could make any donations please do ill post my cash app one day and y'all can do what you do best, I understand its a recession and others are struggling as well. I'm staying positive in this time because in my mind there's nowhere to go but up, new possibilities new friends, and new school what more could a girl my age want? Thank you for taking the time to read my post and taking time out of your day this means a lot to me, writing is my passion and I want you all to know what we as homeless people have to deal with on a daily basis.
